FLIR FX Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy Statement outlines the obligations of FLIR Systems, Inc., its subsidiaries, and affiliates (collectively "FLIR") regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information collected from you by means of the FLIR FX products, apps, and subscription services. By using FLIR FX you consent to the collection and use of your information in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy Statement. If you do not want your information to be collected and used in the manner described in this Privacy Policy Statement, you can opt out by not using the FLIR FX and by deleting any accounts associated with your personal information.

Registration

To use the FLIR FX, you must first complete a registration procedure, which requires you to provide certain personal information, such as your name and email address (providing demographic information, such as your job title, is optional), and product information (such as the camera's ID and title). Payment information is required to register to access special features via subscription plans. FLIR collects this information and uses it internally for purposes such as marketing, customer administration, technical administration of the FLIR Site, or to contact you. FLIR does not share this information with outside parties except as indicated in the 'Information Sharing' section below.

We use this information to provide, develop and improve FLIR Products and services, including information and recommendations about your products. We may use your contact details to send you this information, or to ask you to participate in surveys. We use service providers to perform some of these functions. Those service providers are restricted from sharing your information for any other purpose.

We use industry-standard methods to keep this information safe and secure while it is transmitted over your home network and through the Internet to our cloud servers. Depending on your location and type of data. FLIR may process your personal information on servers that are not in your home country.

Payments

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or enter, submit, or access your personal information.

We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our payment gateway providers database, and is only accessible by those authorized with special access rights to these systems, who are required to keep the information confidential.

After a transaction, your private information (credit cards, social security numbers, financials, etc.) will not be stored on our servers.

Accuracy

We will try to ensure that information about you is accurate, complete and up-to-date. However, please inform us of any change of name, address or other information. In the event you have questions about the accuracy of factual information we have collected about you, you will have access to that information in order to verify and update it.

Visiting

FLIR collects non-personally identifiable, anonymous information from all visitors to FLIR websites. Examples of the types of anonymous information that FLIR collects include a user's IP address, browser type, and the date and time a user accessed the FLIR website. We use this anonymous information for system administration purposes in order to enhance the operation of FLIR FX and FLIR's websites and make them more useful to visitors. We may share this information with outside parties, but each user's personal identity remains anonymous.

From time to time, we may use an outside agent to collect anonymous user information. The collection and use of such information will be for purposes substantially identical to those described above. As part of this service, the outside agent may use cookies.

Technical Support

FLIR Technical Support may request information on the product (such as the camera's ID and title) or account to provide support on the product. Personal information may be requested to verify the identity of the account holder. This information is only used for internal support purposes and will not be transferred to outside parties except as indicated in the 'Information Sharing' section below.

FLIR FX Services

By using FLIR FX services, you consent to have your data transferred to and processed in the United States. FLIR FX servers are located in the United States. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of FLIR FX does not violate any law that is applicable to you, and your right to use FLIR FX is void wherever use is prohibited by law.

Retention of Data

FLIR will retain personal information associated with your account as long as your account remains active. Video files and other data are retained for the time period defined by the subscription terms of your account. You may request that FLIR delete your account and all associated data at any time as indicated in 'Correction/Updating Personal Information, Opting-out, and Contacting FLIR' below.

Children's Privacy Policy

FLIR does not knowingly collect the personally identifiable information of children under the age of thirteen. Because FLIR is committed to protecting children's privacy online, use of FLIR FX by children under the age of thirteen who live in the United States is prohibited.

Cookies

FLIR uses cookies. A cookie is a small amount of data placed on your computer's hard drive by FLIR that can transmit your information to us. We use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. A session cookie terminates automatically after you close your browser. A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive, but can be removed by following the directions on your browser. You can set your browser to disable cookies, but this may prevent you from enjoying all of the features of the FLIR Site.

We use cookies to deliver content that is specific to your interests, to streamline the login process, and to collect anonymous user data in the aggregate. The cookies make your use of the FLIR FX easier, allow you to retrieve an earlier shopping cart, make the FLIR FX run more smoothly, and help us to maintain the security of the FLIR FX.

Some outside parties may use cookies on the FLIR Site (for example, banner advertisers). FLIR has no access to or control over these cookies.

Information Sharing

Except as set forth in this Privacy Policy Statement, FLIR does not disclose your personally identifiable information to outside parties.

FLIR may partner with other outside parties to provide specific services. When a user signs up for these services, we will share names, or other contact information that is necessary for the third party to provide these services. FLIR uses great care in selecting business partners with whom we share your information. However, FLIR is not a guarantor of outside parties' practices regarding your information. Users of the FLIR Site permit the sharing of their personal information at their own risk, and shall not hold FLIR responsible for acts or omissions of outside parties.

FLIR will disclose your information when we believe in good faith that it is legally required, such as pursuant to a warrant, subpoena, or court order, or to protect our rights and property.

In the event that FLIR is acquired by or merged into another company, all information collected will be transferred to the acquiring company as one of FLIR's assets and will be governed by the acquiring company's privacy policy, if any.

Security

FLIR takes precautions to protect our users' information both online and offline.

We also protect user information offline. All of our users' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or a user service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information.

Correction/Updating Personal Information, Opting-out, and Contacting FLIR

You may use the contact information provided below to request a change in your personal information (such as an address correction) or to have your personal information removed from our database. We will correct, update, or remove your personal data according to your request.

You may also use the contact information below if you have any questions or comments about this Privacy Policy Statement or your dealings with the FLIR Site.

Mobile Apps.

We also may collect information, including personal information through the FLIR FX app. Information collected includes your name, encrypted password, phone number, email address, IP address, geographic location, and environmental data (temperature and humidity) from your FX camera, and any encrypted video clips that you want to record. You authorize us and trusted third party service providers we work with to host and store such environmental data and video clips for the purpose of providing you the Service. All information collected from our Software is also encrypted, and transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. Your password and recorded video clips are encrypted on your mobile device using a one-way encryption algorithm prior to collection. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password. Video clips may be viewed only from a device that is authorized to access those video clips. We will not make your video clips that are transmitted through the Service publicly available.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

If we decide to change our Privacy Policy, we will update the Privacy Policy modification date above.
